Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to common questions about setting up and using Plug Cash On Delivery.

Why is Cash on Delivery not showing at checkout?

First, confirm that your COD payment method is selected and that the status is Active in Limit COD. Then check every enabled restriction: order total, discount, products, collections, vendors, gift cards, location, and customer rules can each hide COD.

Also make sure the customer is using a shipping address and cart that meet your configured rules. If you have enabled delivery-option synchronization, confirm that the selected COD delivery option is available for that address.

How do I create a COD payment method in Shopify?

In Shopify admin, go to Settings > Payments > Manual payment methods and add or enable your Cash on Delivery payment method. Return to Limit COD, select that payment method, and save your configuration.

Why is my COD shipping rate not listed?

Create or update the rate in Shopify under Settings > Shipping and delivery. Then return to the app and refresh the shipping rates in Fee Settings. Use a clear, unique name such as Cash on Delivery or COD - Standard.

What does “Keep delivery options in sync” do?

It hides the COD delivery or shipping option whenever an active COD restriction hides the COD payment method. This prevents customers from selecting a COD-specific delivery option and then finding that COD is unavailable as a payment choice.

Enable the setting in Limit COD, then select every delivery option used for COD. If you use a rate from Fee Settings, select that same rate name here.

Can I set both a minimum and maximum order total for COD?

Yes. Enable the order-total restriction and enter a minimum, maximum, or both. COD is available only when the cart total falls within the configured range. Leave the maximum blank if you do not want an upper limit.

Can I hide COD for specific products or collections?

Yes. In Limit COD, you can hide COD for selected products, collections, vendors, or gift cards. You can also use the collection and vendor “show only” rules to make COD available only for the selected items.

Can I restrict COD by customer details?

Yes. You can hide COD for particular customer tags, email addresses, or phone numbers. You can also make COD available only to customers with selected tags. Phone numbers must include the country code, for example +14155552671 or +919876543210.

What is the difference between Static Fee and Dynamic Fee?

Static Fee applies a configured COD fee to selected shipping rates. Dynamic Fee calculates the COD shipping charge at checkout using a fixed amount, a percentage of the order subtotal, or both. Only one fee mode can be active at a time. See Fee Settings for setup details.

Which plan includes Dynamic Fee?

Dynamic Fee is available on the Pro plan and higher. See Plans for the current plan features, order limits, and pricing.

How can I test my COD configuration?

Save your configuration, then test checkout with a cart, address, shipping option, and customer details that match the rule you want to verify. To test a restriction, also try a case that should fail—for example, a subtotal below the configured minimum or a postal code you have blocked.

How do I temporarily stop all COD restrictions?

Open Limit COD and change the status to Inactive, then save. Your rules remain saved, but they will not apply until you set the status back to Active.

I still need help. How do I contact support?

Use the Contact page in the app and include your store domain, a description of the issue, and screenshots of the relevant configuration and checkout result. This helps the support team investigate quickly.
