Limit COD
This document explains all settings available under Cash on Delivery (COD) Restrictions. These controls help merchants manage where, when, and for whom COD is available.
1. Status
Enable or disable the overall COD restriction settings.
- Active → All configured restrictions apply.
- Inactive → No restrictions are applied.
2. Payment Method
Select Cash on Delivery payment method
Choose the COD payment method that will follow these restrictions.
Example: Cash on Delivery (COD).
3. Keep Delivery Options in Sync
When a COD rule hides the Cash on Delivery payment method, customers can otherwise still select a COD-specific delivery or shipping option. Enable this setting to hide the matching delivery option at the same time, so customers are not left without a way to complete checkout.
3.1 Also hide the matching delivery option
Enable Also hide the matching delivery option when Cash on Delivery is hidden.
3.2 Select delivery or shipping options
Choose the delivery or shipping option(s) used for COD, such as Cash on Delivery, COD - Standard, or COD - Express. The app hides every selected option whenever any active COD restriction hides the payment method.
If you use a COD shipping rate configured in Fee Settings, select that same shipping-rate name here. If a new option does not appear, review your Shopify Shipping and delivery settings, then return to the app and save your configuration.
4. Limit Cash on Delivery by Order Totals
Restrict COD availability based on the customer’s cart subtotal or discounts.
4.1 Restrict based on order total
Checkbox → Enable/disable order total restriction.
4.2 Minimum price
COD appears only if order subtotal is greater than or equal to this value.
4.3 Maximum price
COD appears only if order subtotal is less than or equal to this value.
4.4 Restrict based on discount
Hide or show COD depending on the applied discount (fixed).
5. Limit Cash on Delivery by Products, Collections, Vendors & Gift Cards
Restrict COD availability based on the items present in the customer's cart.
5.1 Products
Hide Cash On Delivery for these specific products COD is hidden if any selected product is in the cart.
5.2 Collections
Hide Cash On Delivery for these specific collections
Show Cash On Delivery only for these specific collections COD appears only when the cart contains products from the specified collections.
5.3 Vendors
Hide Cash On Delivery for these specific vendors
Show Cash On Delivery only for these specific vendors
5.4 Gift Cards
Hide Cash On Delivery for gift cards COD is unavailable if the cart contains any gift card product.
6. Limit Cash on Delivery by Location
Restrict COD based on the customer’s shipping address.
6.1 Country restrictions
Hide Cash on Delivery for these countries
Show Cash on Delivery only for these countries
6.2 State/Province restrictions
Hide Cash On Delivery for these specific provinces/states

6.3 Postal code restrictions

7. Customer Restrictions
Control COD availability based on customer tags, email, or phone number.
7.1 Customer tags
Hide Cash On Delivery if the customer is tagged with specific tags
Show Cash On Delivery only if the customer is tagged with specific tags
7.2 Email
Hide Cash On Delivery if the customer has specific email addresses
7.3 Phone number
Hide Cash On Delivery if the customer has any of these phone numbers
